Jerry Johnson Honored as Citizen of the Year
Jerry is a Texas native and current Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of First Bank. Johnson served on the Burkburnett ISD Board of Trustees for 12 years. Additionally, his school board involvement led him to serve a six-year tenure as a Trustee with the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB). His other affiliations have included the Lone Star Investment Pool, TASB’s Risk Management Fund, board service with the United Way of Greater Wichita Falls and local Chamber of Commerce including a term as President.
Johnson’s other involvements include Trustee with the Priddy Foundation and board service with the local Grace Ministries Outreach, the Burkburnett Development Corporation (past President), the Burkburnett Library ad founding member of the Burkburnett Roustabouts and the local Genealogical Society. Johnson is a past President of the Burkburnett Rotary Club and has 33 years of membership in the organization and four years of membership with the Burkburnett Lions Club
Johnson graduated from Brigam Young University with a degree in accounting and also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Midwestern State University and a Graduate Banking Degree from Southern Methodist University. He and his wife, Lavonda, have been married for 40 years. They have five children and 18 grandchildren.
Fidelity Bank Awarded Business of the Year Award
Fidelty Bank has been a dedicated community partner committed to Burkburnett. Fidelity Bank opened in September 2003 in Wichita Falls with the goal of providing unparalleled customer service to Wichita Falls and the surrounding areas. A true community bank, Fidelity Bank’s stockholders all come from the local area, including Burkburnett.
In August 2005, the Burkburnett branch of Fidelity Bank was opened under the leadership of Randy Aaron and his late father, Jack Aaron. The bank moved into its current location on South Avenue D in Decemver of 2006. In 2013, Fidelity Bank acquired the First National Bank of Byers and its three locations, further strengthening ties to the local Texoma community.
Dalton Andrews and Angela Ortiz Honored as 2015 Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Recipients
Dalton is the son of Tom and Mindy Dahl and Ortiz is the daughter of Carmen Ortiz.

This is the home of Juan and Mary Aguilar, with their daughters and son, of 1004 Easy Street. Juan is serving in US Army and is stationed at Ft Sill, Oklahoma, where he serves as Inspector General for Fort Sill. The family plans to stay in Burkburnett after retirement. Their son is in high school and the two girls are already planning on becoming Burkburnett Babes. Congratulations!
